O que poderia não ter passado de uma mudança de regime político, marcou o início da “revolução dos cravos”, o último grande movimento revolucionário da Europa – que durou quase dois anos. Num estúdio que recria o posto de comando da Pontinha, Otelo Saraiva de Carvalho conta como tudo se passou na noite do 25 de Abril de 74. In Portugal, on 25 April 1974, a military coup ended the regime of Marcelo Caetano, bringing to an end the longest dictatorship in Europe. The coup was conceived and led by Otelo Saraiva de Carvalho, who saw nothing of the events of 25 April. He could only imagine, from what he was told by the man in charge of broadcasting, what was happening on the streets of Lisbon: the joyful multitude surging onto the streets and soldiers’ guns adorned with red carnations. Le 25 avril 1974, la Révolution des Œillets met fin au Portugal à la plus vieille dictature d’Europe. Le film est le récit de l’organisateur de ce coup d’État, Otelo de Carvalho, de la nuit du 25 avril et des heures qui ont suivi qu’il a passées avec quelques compagnons dans un poste de commandement. Celui qui a tout organisé n’a rien vu des images qui ont fait le tour du monde: une foule en liesse offrant des œillets aux jeunes soldats occupant les rues avec les blindés. L’histoire de ces heures capitales, Otelo de Carvalho la raconte et la revit dans une mise en scène originale.
