Os “angolares” são os mais antigos habitantes da ilha de São Tomé, onde, segundo a lenda, chegaram depois de um naufrágio. Outrora senhores da ilha, forma despojados pela força no fim do séc. XIX e estão agora reduzidos a uma pequena comunidade piscatória. Entre os mitos e os mistérios desta ilha de beleza luxuriante, este filme revela-nos a história e os costumes destas gentes para quem a pesca e o mar são um símbolo de afirmação. The “angolares” are the eldest inhabitants of S.Tomé’s island where, according to the leggend, they arrived after a shipwreck. Long ago lords of the island, by the end of XIX century they were then defeated by force and are now reduced to a small fishing community. Amongst the myths and mysteries of this island of luxurious beauty, the film discloses the Angolar people’s customs and history. A people for whom the sea and fishing are a symbol of identity. Les “Angolares” sont les plus anciens habitants de l’Ille de São Tomé ou, selon la légende, ils sont arrivés après un naufrage. Autrefois seigneurs de l’Ille, ils ont été spoliés à force à la fin du XIX siècle, et maintenant ils sont réduits a une petite communauté de pêcheurs. Entre les mites et les mystères de cette Ille de beauté luxuriante, ce filme nous dévoile l’histoire et les coutumes des «Angolares», pour qui la pêche et la mer sont les symboles d’affirmation.

Ângelo Torres nasceu em 1966. Actor, natural de S. Tomé e Princípe. Formou-se em Engenharia Termodinâmica pelo Instituto Lazaro Cardinas, Cuba. Fez o curso de Artes Performativas na Escola Profissional de Artes e Ofícios do Espectáculo – Chapitô. Estreou-se como actor de teatro em 1991, com a “Missão” de Heine Müller, encenação de Luís Miguel Cintra. A sua filmografia é muito extensa, tendo desenvolvido uma excelente carreira ao nível internacional. actor, born in 1966 in S.Tomé e Príncipe. Majored in Termodinamic Engineering on the Lazaro Candinas Institute, in Cuba. Attended the Performative Arts course on the Professional Trainning School of Arts and Crafts – Chapitô. Had his first role as an actor in 1991, in the play “Missão” from Heine Müller, staged by Luís Miguel Cintra. His filmography is wide, as he developped a solid carrer even internationally. acteur, né en 1966 aux S.Tomé Príncipe. A fait ses études de Technologie de Termodinamic au Institut Lazaro Candinas, Cuba. Il a aussi assisté aux cours d’arts Performatifs à l‘école Professionnelle des Arts et des Métiers – Chapitô. Il a joué son premier rôle en tant qu’acteur en 1991, dans le jeu de theatre “Missão” de Heine Müller. Sa filmographie est long et diverse, même au niveau international.
